- Pisang Goreng (Indonesian Banana Fritters) -




I absolutely LOVE these banana fritters… they bring back childhood memories! So crispy… They’re a good company in the winter with a glass of hot tea… hhhhmmmmmmm … yummy… الحمد لله

Bahan/Ingredients:
1 sisir (10 buah) pisang kepok merah // a hand (10pcs) saba banana
Minyak goreng secukupnya 
// enough canola oil for deep frying

Bahan Pencelup/Deeping Ingredients:
125 gr tepung terigu protein sedang // 125gr plain flour
2 sdm tepung beras  //  2 tbsp rice flour 
¼  sdt garam 
//    ¼ tsp salt   
1½ sdm gula halus 
// 1½ tbsp caster sugar
1 sdm susu bubuk // 1 tbsp  milk powder
250 ml air  //   250 ml water

Bahan Kremesan/Crispy Ingredients:
280 gr tepung beras // 280 gr rice flour
60 gr tepung sagu // 60 gr tapioca flour
25 gr gula merah, disisir halus // 25 gr palm sugar, finely slice
1 sdt garam // 1 tsp salt
2 sdm susu bubuk // 2 tbsp milk powder
¼  sdt vanili extract // ¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 kuning telur // 1 egg yolk
700 ml air // 700 ml water
pewarna kuning tua secukupnya // drops of dark yellow food color (optional)

Cara Membuat/Methods:
{   Potong pisang seperti kipas melebar. Sisihkan. // Slice the banana into kipas shape (as in the picture). Set aside. 
{   Aduk bahan pencelup sampai rata. // In a bowl, combine all deeping ingredients except water. Add water slowly and mix to form a batter.
{   Aduk bahan kremesan sampai rata. // In a bowl, combine all crispy ingredients except water. Add water slowly and mix to form a batter.
{   Panaskan minyak goreng. Tuang/taburkan satu sendok sayur adonan kremesan merata keseluruh permukaan minyak.  Kecilkan api. Biarkan mengambang. Kumpul-kumpulkan adonan sehingga menyatu. // Heat the oil. Sprinkle a ladle of crispy batter until covering oil surface. Reduce the heat, let it float. Gather it in to the centre.
{   Celup pisang ke bahan pencelup. Masukkan ke bagian tengah kremesan yang sudah dikumpulkan. Lipat kremesan hingga menutupi pisang. // Deep the banana into the deeping batter. Put into the middle of floating crispy. Fold up to form the envelope.
{   Goreng sampai matang/kuning keemasan. Tiriskan. Sajikan dengan taburan keju parut dan coklat pasta diatasnya pasti tambah maknyuuuuusssss! // Deep fry until it turns golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve at once or serve with sprinkle of cheese, ginger/cinnamon powder or chocolate on the top... hhhmmmmm yummy... (maknyuuuusssss... Javanese expression for delicious... JJJ)

Tips: You can use Cavendish banana that's common at Australian market/shops. So the result will be crispy on the outside and as soon as you bite into it, it melts into a soft, gooey and sweet banana filling.
