- Lontong Balap -



Hi peeps... craving these food over a month ago... browsed the net, found the recipes... I tried it with adding this 'n that according my taste,  ... voooaalaaaa... I've made it... It's not same like the originally that I use to eat but it's ok laaaahhh for beginner...

Some says, Lontong Balap is the original food of Surabaya, besides Semanggi Suroboyo, and Rujak Cingur. I bet you are laughing when you read the name of this food. Literally, lontong is translated as rice cake and balap means racing. The name of this dish was obtained because of the antiquity of the vendors. They used to sell by walking and carrying “pikulan” on their shoulder. Pikulan consists two woven baskets that are attached by one sturdy stick. Due to the heavinessof bearing the weight, they seemed like in a rush and run fast like a race. 

Lontong Balap consists rice cakes, fried tofu, lentho made of cassava with black eye peas fritters ( in Surabaya called Kacang Tholo) and generous bean sprouts then doused with prawn chili paste (Sambal Petis).Though, many vendors use a cart and no more pain on their shoulder nowdays, this dish is still called Lontong Balap. To accompany this food, people usually add clam/shellfish satay and refresh with young coconut ice afterward.

- Siomay Bandung euy -



Hi peeps… who doesn’t like siomay??? My family and friends love it so much… At least once a month my mom always provide siomay on the weekend. She always make beef siomay that you’ll never find anywhere. She modified it. Love u mom... Miss u badly...
Today, I have made the original one… I'll post the modified one someday... Hope you’ll like it and have a go to try it…

Siomay (also Somay), is an Indoesian steamed fish dumpling with vegetables served in peanut sauce which is influence by Chinese people who have immigrated to Indonesia since a very long time.
Siomay has been incorporated into Indonesian cuisine for a long time, and the most famous variety is Siomay Bandung. It has been adapted into local Sundanese cuisine. Today, most of Siomay sellers are Sundanese.
Siomay is ubiquitous in Indonesian cities. It can be found in street-side foodstalls, travelling carts, bicycle vendors, and restaurants.

- Nasi Tumpeng Komplit -

We had a great time with our beloved friends last night… We shared happiness together… We celebrated our happy moments together… Evita’s 'n my b’day, Girry-Ebin’s 3rd anniversary 'n our 4th anniversary and my beloved hubby got 2nd permanent job…
And the last but not least... My dad's b'day n 14th anniversary of my parent wedding...

Tumpeng is a cone-shaped rice dish like mountain with its side dishes (vegetables and meat). Traditionally featured in the selamatan ceremony, the cone shape of rice is made by using cone-shaped weaved bamboo container. The rice itself could be plain steam rice, uduk rice (cooked with coconut milk), or yellow rice (uduk rice colored with kunyit-tumeric).

- Resep Nasi Kuning -



g  Nasi Kuning Tumpeng  h

Bahan :

1 kg beras putih
200 gr beras ketan
1500 ml santan
1 sdm kunyit halus
2 sdm garam
4 lbr daun salam
2 lbr daun pandan
2 btg sereh
1 sdm air jeruk nipis.

Cara Membuat :

{ Campur 200gr beras ketan untuk setiap 1kg beras supaya nasi tumpeng pulen & mudah dibentuk.
Rendam campuran beras selama 8-10jam agar cepat matang & hasilnya bagus, kemudian kukus selama ½ jam hingga setengah matang.
{ Sementara itu campur kunyit dan santan, saring, buang ampas kunyit. Masak bersama daun salam, pandan dan sereh. Tambahkan garam. Masak terus hingga mendidih. Matikan api. Tambahkan 1sdm air jeruk.
{ Masukkan beras yg masih panas kedalam santan, aduk rata. Biarkan hingga santan terserap habis dan beras menjadi aron.
Agar permukaan tumpeng licin & tidak berbulu, setelah santan terserap habis jangan diaduk-aduk lagi.
{ Kukus beras aron selama 20 menit, angkat. Cetak dalam cetakan tumpeng, yang ujung lancipnya sudah dialas daun pisang.

Rendang Daging has a unique flavour that is rich in spices. Serve over rice. The authentic Padang rendang took hours to cook (usually four hours), that is why cooking rendang is time-consuming and requires patience. I made it to take camping tomorrow... I love Rendang …

After some time off to make Green Banana Ice, a famous dessert originally from Makassar-South Sulawesi, Indonesia, tasty n refreshing... finally I've done it... The first experiment  that I've made in Melbie and at request of my best friend too, mba' Nena. I'll invite my friends to drop in the end of this month, coz her bananas're already in my place... hahahaha ...
Ups...should used king banana (pisang raja) instead, the kind of banana which not easy to find in Melbie, so I substituted it with Saba/Ivory banana. It' okey... I'll make it again if I manage to find it.... J{J{J

Lotek... Lotek.... Lotek...


Lotek... lotek... barade... barade... neng... Lotek neng... teriakan itu yang biasa kudengar kalo aQ sedang berada di lembur kuring euy!!! alias lagi berlibur di Tasik... rindu suasana seperti itu... 
Hari ini …aQ kedatangan temen yang rindu ingin makan makanan Sunda..."Lotek" tepatnya... Tadinya mah yang mo datang 2 temen (Indah & Yuni) beserta anak2 mereka... eh... ternyata Yuni batal ikutan karena Kiana sedang rewel...
Saking pengen banget lotek itu terasa loteknya...makanya Indah mbela-belain bawa cowet karena diriQ ga' punya cowet yang ceper...katanya 'gak afdol kalo ga' pake cowet yang ceper'... padahal Indah datang ke rumah bersama 2 anak cowoknya yang cakep2 beserta pram yang ditambah cowet....kebayang dunk gimana beratnya....demi 'Lotek' gitu looooghhh....{J{J{
